1. Who we are & Geographic Scope
GetLocalExperts.com is operated by GetLocalExperts.com. We operate a free matching and referral service that connects homeowners with independent, third-party home service providers. We are not a contractor and we do not perform home services.
This website and our referral services are operated in the United States and intended solely for residents of the United States. We do not knowingly offer services to individuals residing outside the United States.
2. Information we collect
- Information you give us: name, telephone number, email address, ZIP code or service address, the service you requested, and any details you type into a form or say on a recorded call.
- Information collected automatically: IP address, approximate geographic location derived from IP, device and browser type, referring URL, campaign parameters (such as utm_source), pages viewed, and interactions with our forms and call buttons.
- Call data: when you dial a number on this site, the call is routed through a call-tracking platform. We and our providers may collect the calling number, call duration, routing data and, where permitted by law and disclosed at the start of the call, a recording or transcript.
3. How we share your information — please read this section
We sell and/or share the information you submit with third parties. This is the core of how our service works. When you submit a form or place a call through this site, we may transmit your name, phone number, email, location and service request to:
- independent home service contractors, dealers and franchisees in our provider network who serve your area (typically one to four providers per request);
- pay-per-call and lead marketplace partners and networks that route your request to a matching provider on our behalf;
- service vendors who operate on our behalf, including hosting, call tracking and routing, analytics, telephony, email and SMS delivery, and fraud prevention;
- law enforcement or other parties where we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety or property.
Once your information is transmitted to a provider or network partner, that party's own privacy policy governs its use of your information. We do not control their retention, marketing or contact practices, and you should contact them directly to opt out of their communications.
4. Marketing communications and consent
By submitting a request with the consent box checked, you give prior express written consent for GetLocalExperts and the providers we match you with to contact you at the number provided using automated technology, including autodialers, prerecorded or artificial voice messages, and SMS text messages, even if that number is on a state or federal Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You may revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the caller to place you on their internal do-not-call list, or emailing support@getlocalexperts.com.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics and advertising measurement, including conversion tracking from advertising platforms. You can disable cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may not function normally. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of sale/sharing where applicable law requires it.
6. Data retention and security
We retain personal information for the periods necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law:
- Consent and TCPA proof: retained for typically five (5) years to demonstrate compliance with federal and state telemarketing regulations.
- Lead match and call records: retained for twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) months for quality assurance, dispute resolution, and billing reconciliation with provider networks.
- Support, privacy, and correction inquiries: retained for three (3) years to maintain an auditable support record.
- Server and analytics logs: retained for ninety (90) to one-hundred-eighty (180) days before automated aggregation or deletion.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
7. Your rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Residents can exercise these rights on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
8. Children
This site is intended solely for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (in compliance with COPPA) or minors under 16 without affirmative authorization. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a minor, we will promptly delete that information from our active systems.
